Hobart's music scene is about to explode with a brand-new concert series, and the excitement is electric! Thousands of music enthusiasts from all over Tasmania flocked to the city's iconic Wrest Point lawns for the highly anticipated 'Night At The Point' event. But would the weather dampen their spirits? Not a chance!
Despite the rain, the three-day concert series kicked off with a bang on Friday night. The legendary Jon Stevens, known for his work with INXS and Noiseworks, performed to a dedicated crowd, all geared up in rain ponchos. A true testament to the power of live music!
The excitement continued on Saturday with the electronic beats of PNAU, accompanied by local favorites, Sumner. And the grand finale? None other than the beloved Delta Goodrem, who is returning to Hobart after two decades, supported by the talented Dami Im. A dream lineup for any music fan!
Goodrem expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "Returning to Hobart and performing at this unique location is a special experience." And she's not wrong! The event's location, overlooking the picturesque River Derwent, adds a magical touch to the already incredible lineup.
Organizer Cameron Coghlan is thrilled to bring this concept to Tasmania, especially with the stunning waterfront setting of Wrest Point. But here's where it gets controversial... Is this the beginning of a new era for Hobart's music scene, or just a one-off event? Will it attract more big names and create a lasting impact, or is it a fleeting moment of musical bliss?
